Cyprus - Angling
Cyprus is the ideal place for coarse fishing with its warm sunny climate and
23 well stocked reservoirs with a huge variety of healthy unmarked fish
including Carp, Roach, Bass, Tench, Zander, Catfish and many more.
With Cyprus�s long dry summers the water levels are low through the summer
months and rise again in March and April. There is no closed season for fishing
except for a few Trout reservoirs, which are open normally from June to
December.
Key areas where coarse fishing may be of interest include: Kouris
on the road from Limassol to Troodos Mountains, it is the second largest dam
in Cyprus stocked with Mirror and extremely powerful Common Carp, Large Roach,
Silver Bream, Bass and Zander. Asprokremmos is the largest dam in Cyprus,
only ten minutes from Paphos Airport. Carp, Roach, Large mouth Bass and Trout
are present. Carp average's 2lb but catches up to 20lb is a possibility.
Mavrokolymbos only a few km�s from the resort of Coral Bay this dam is
plentiful in small Carp and Roach. Bass and Catfish are also present. A few carp
reaching 6lbs can be caught on a good day!
Angling is offered year-round from the banks of more than 20 freshwater
reservoirs stocked with trout, largemouth bass, carp, pike-perch and roach.
