Cyprus - Climate
In general the climate in dry and sunny. The plains usually have an annual
rainfall of about 50 cm. more than half of which falls during December and
January. and the remainder during the other winter months. However rainfall has
been much less than this during the past few years, resulting in a serious
shortage on the island.
. Winter extends from November to early March, when average temperatures fall
to about 18 C during the day and 2 C at night, though it is much colder
in the mountains. 'There is usually snow on the Troodos range between January
and March.
From June to September the weather is hot; in late July and early August the
temperature reaches over 38C every day, with high humidity in the coastal
areas.
