Agia Napa - Things to do and see
Agia Napa has the best beaches in Cyprus and the best nightlife in the eastern Mediterranean, so it's no surprise this lively but laid back resort has become a hedonistic legend in its own time, with a raucous and somewhat infamous youthful clientele. Yet Agia Napa still retains some of the flavour of a typical Cypriot fishing port to charm visitors during the day. There's plenty for families too, and the long sandy beaches that stretch either side of the resort mean there's pleny of space to escape the crowds.
Agia Napa Square
This is the heart of the town, surrounded by trendy bars and cafes. For most visitors, the where the evening starts (and ends!)
Agia Napa Monastery
This beautiful medieval monastery is surrounded by massive defensive walls. There is and eight sided fountain in the middle of the cloistered courtyard, entered via an arched gateway.
Limnaki Harbour
Working fishing boats bob on the water alongside private yachts and large day-cruise ships in Agia Napa's old fishing harbour, a little enclave of pre-tourism Cyprus, on a headland between two long sandy beaches, and a respite form the town's brashness.
Waterworld
This award winning fun park offers wild, wet thrills for all ages with various pools, water slides and rollercoaster rides. There's also a shallow pool for toddlers, as well as two restaurants, a bar and a gift shop. Waterworld is open Easter until November 10am until 6pm daily.
Nissi Beach
About 2 km (1.5 miles) west of the town centre this lovely long stretch of white sand is one of the island's busiest and liveliest beaches in the high season.
Makronissos Beach
Makronisssos Beach (also known as Golden Sands) is a long sandy stretch 1 km (half a mile) west of Nissi and is linked to it by a walkway and cycle path. It has a sweep of fine sand and plenty of watersport options.
