Pomos is a large, attractive seaside village built on a slope between the sea and the wooded foothills of the Paphos mountains.It is located on the west coast of Paphos, 20 Km from Polis center. There is a variety of restaurants in the area, two grocery stores in the village, a few sandy coves for swimming and a small, recently constructed fishing harbour with a well known sea food restaurant.
As yet untouched by commercialisation therefore the pace of life is typically Mediterranean and relaxed.
The scenery of the Pomos region is spectacular due to the dramatic contrast from lush green mountains home to pine and Cypress trees, wild flowers, fruit trees and water melons growing wild.
The Pomos beaches are a combination of sand and stone and appear black in colour with many rock pools ideal for exploration and fishing.
The small harbour of Pomos is the central focal point of local life with fishing boats laden with nets and the catch of the day. Next to the harbour is a long stretch of beach with cliffs to one side offering shade and protection from the wind.
