Cypriots as well as visitors agree that the Polis area belong to the most beautiful parts of the Cyprus Republic. Even in July and August when much of Cyprus bakes brown in the sun, the area remains relatively green. Agriculture and fishery still are important which adds to the authentic atmosphere of this place.

The marina at Latchi is a focal point and is shared by traditional fishing boats as well as larger yachts, and the quayside boasts a wide collection of fish restaurants where you must try the fish that has been caught that day and brought into the harbour. If you are feeling energetic try some of the water sports or take a trip on one of the glass bottom boats out along the Akamas Peninsula and see nature at its best. Take your swimming costume though as the boat moors in a wonderful cove to allow you to swim or snorkel and take refreshments, which are normally provided. Alternatively just sit and relax on the wide uncrowded beaches which spread out along the coastline.
The Baths of Aphrodite are among many famous tourist attractions in the area . This natural pool, where legend has it that the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, used to take her baths. The serene pool, shaded by a fig tree and surrounded by beautiful examples of maindenhair fern, can be reached by nature trails from Akamas.
