The village itself is renowned for its spectacular views, while the coastline below has one of the best sandy beaches of the Paphos region at Coral Bay, which each year is awarded with a Blue Flag for its bathing water quality.

Peyia's buildings are set among fields and farmland inland of Coral Bay Between the cobbled central square, with its fountains, and the former fishing harbour are foundations of two early Christian churches, with fine mosaic floors.
